Project Overview

The Ask

M Financial Group hosts a series of client events each year. These included a Marketing Meeting in the Fall, a National Advisors Conference in the Winter and a Sabbatical Trip in the spring.

The Events team was in need of an event platform that would provide complex registrations for attendees, an integrated web site builder, and a companion app for the event itself.

The Result

I conducted an in-depth review of various event platforms, including Webex Events, Whova, Cvent, and Pheedloop. From there I shared my findings and recommendations with the events team. The team decided Cvent would be the best option for their current needs.

I helped to design and build out a variety of multipage promotional Event websites through the Cvent platform and emails through Knak. I also applied event branding to the registration process, Cvents automated emails, and the Attendee Hub experience. I helped to assist in getting a self-branded Cvent app onto the Google Play and Apple's App Store.

Overall my builds were well received and appreciated by both M Leadership/Employees and our Member Firm Clients.

While Cvent's WYSIWYG builder was limited, I was able to leverage Custom HTML/CSS to create landing screens with video backgrounds, SVG imagery and additional styling for various elements.

The Cvent Attendee Hub

Cvent's Attendee Hub is separate from the promotional web sites I built for registration and general information prior to. The Attendee Hub is a web page/app experience that Attendees can use to track their personal schedule, get important information, and connect with other attendees.

In addition to Cvent's standard app, we opted to use a 'self-branded' version. I helped create the App Icon design, Splash Screen, and define branding for both the app and the individual events.
