Mentorship Program

AIGA Portland

About the Mentorship Program
"AIGA Portland’s Mentorship Program is designed to connect student designers and recent grads with professional mentors from our own creative community."
Becoming a Mentor
I became a Mentor for the first time to a recent College Design graduate through the AIGA Portland Mentorship Program. The program ran from January to March of 2024. Was a great experience and one I hope to do again next year!

What We Covered
Each week during the program, Jessica and I would meet virtually for an hour or so. The work we did included reviewing their Portfolio/LinkedIn/Resume, preparing for a Job interview (which they got 🎉), and a comprehensive Mock Project for a Food Truck.
Near the end of the program, we were able to pivot more towards discussing her recent experience as a Graphic Designer for a local organization.
Jessica's Food Truck Work Included:
• Project Moodboard & Logo Exploration
• Brand Development & Brand Guidelines
• Food & Drink Menu
• Vehicle Wrap for the Food Truck
